Gas Burner Upgrade FAQs

Everything You Need to Know About the Forzo Hybrid Conversion

Considering upgrading your ARGHERI Forzo oven with gas convenience? This guide answers your most common questions about Modular Fire gas burner kits, performance, and professional installation.

General Usage & Fuel

Why upgrade to a Hybrid (Dual-Fuel) model?

The hybrid system delivers ultimate flexibility and control:

  • Quick pre-heating with gas – Fire up your oven in minutes on busy weeknights
  • Authentic wood flavor – Add logs alongside the gas flame for that classic smoky taste
  • Effortless heat maintenance – Hold your target temperature without constantly tending the fire

Can I use gas and wood simultaneously?

Absolutely. This is the hybrid system's key advantage. Use the gas burner to maintain consistent base heat while adding wood for traditional dome flames and smoky flavor.

Should I choose LPG or Natural Gas?

Choose the correct kit when ordering, as each burner is configured for a specific fuel type:

LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas)

  • Perfect for portable setups or locations without mains gas
  • Connects to gas bottles/tanks

Natural Gas (Mains Gas)

  • Ideal for permanent outdoor kitchens or commercial installations
  • Requires existing mains connection

Can I convert between LPG and Natural Gas?

Burner kits are manufactured for either LPG or Natural Gas specifically. While conversion is technically possible, it requires replacing the main burner nozzle and must only be performed by a licensed gas fitter to ensure safety and compliance.

How long does a 45kg LPG bottle last?

Duration depends on your burner model and heat level. A 45kg cylinder provides approximately 2,225 MJ of energy.

Burner Type Max Output Energy Consumption Full Output Duration
Residential (M-Series) 14 kW 50.4 MJ/hr ~44 hours
Commercial (E/T-Series) 34 kW 122.4 MJ/hr ~18 hours

Performance & Operation

How fast does the gas burner heat up?

Gas burners dramatically reduce heat-up time compared to wood alone:

  • Forzo 70 – Reaches 400°C in 60–90 minutes
  • Forzo 100/Pro – Reaches 400°C in 90-120 minutes

Note: Times vary based on ambient temperature, and oven last use.

How do I control the temperature?

Temperature control depends on your burner model:

M-Series (Manual Control – Residential)

  • Simple mechanical dial/control knob
  • Manually adjust gas flow to regulate flame size

E/T-Series (Electronic/Touch Control – Commercial/Pro)

  • Digital or touchscreen interface
  • Set your target temperature and the burner automatically maintains it (thermostatic control)

Will the gas burner affect my oven floor quality?

Not at all. The burner heats the air and dome, ensuring consistent, even heat distribution across the oven floor and walls—essential for perfect pizza bases and uniform cooking.

Installation & Safety

Can I install the gas burner myself?

No. Professional installation is mandatory.

For your safety and to maintain warranty validity, installation must be performed by a licensed gas fitter certified for commercial and/or high-capacity gas appliances in your region. This is legally required in most jurisdictions.

What certification is needed after installation?

Your licensed gas fitter must commission the unit and provide a Compliance Certificate to your local governing authority. Without proper certification:

  • Your product warranty is void
  • You face serious safety risks

Is a flue system still required?

Yes. A properly installed and certified flue system is mandatory to safely vent exhaust gases and ensure adequate ventilation—critical for any gas appliance installation.

What does professional installation cost?

Installation costs vary widely based on:

  • Your location
  • Gas line routing complexity
  • Electrical connection requirements (for E/T series)

Obtain quotes from local licensed gas fitters. Note: Professional installation and compliance certification costs are separate from the burner kit price.
